Gifts to India Review
Gifts to India Review
I live in US and wanted to send Rakhi to my Brother-in-law on behalf of my wife. I searched the Internet, and found that gifts-to-india.com is one of the most decent website with lots of options and quality gifts like Haldiram Sweets, Rudraksh Rakhi etc. at most reasonable rate.
Even though I did not find many reviews available on internet about this website, by looking at the website i felt it should be good to send Rakhi, sweets and chocolates through this website. While browsing the website i was really happy to see many combinations of Rakhi gifts and option of sending authentic sweets to my brother-in-law. I immediately finalised gifts-to-india to send rakhi to my brother-in-laws at two different locations in India.
But i did not know that this happinness would not last long. As soon as the items were delievered, my brother-in-law opened the gifts in utter excitement only to get disappointed. I had ordered - Pooja Thali with Haldirams Kaju Katli 500 Grms and 1 Free Rakhi , Roli Tilak and Chawal (Thali size:8-9). The Sweets which were delivered were in a box which had Haldiram written on it but was clearly a fake box. The Sweets were nowhere near to the Quality Haldiram Sweets has to offer. The box was clearly fake and was made at some Kolkata's Address. The Rakhi mentioned in the combo was not a Rakhi. It was just a thread whereas the website shows a good quality Rakhi in the picture while ordering. Also, the so called Pooja-Thali was made up of Thermocol. Who sends a pooja thalli made of thermocol? I also ordered 4 Rudraksh Rakhi's and a Ferrero Rocher Chocolates 16 pcs Box. The only thing which was delivered as per description was Ferrero Rocher Chocolates 16 pcs Box. The Rudraksh Rakhis were no where in comparison to what is posted on their website gifts-to-india.
My wife's sentiments were deeply hurted because of all this. They had asked for a delivery date for the gifts. We ordered a delivery date of August 11, 2011 (Aug 13 being Rakhi), but they delivered on Aug 2 itself. Speedy delivery is good but not when the gifts are intended for a particular occasion.
Finally, I called the gifts-to-india Customer support number, and the experience with them i want to take few words to describe it:-
1). Bunch of very smart and sweet-spoken people who know how to fool you.
2). Give such wierd explanations that you want to throw you phone away.
3). Will mention that Manager is not in the office. Call during India Standard Timings, when the website clearly mentions 24*7 Customer Care support.

4.) When called a second time, no one will care to answer with an automated response saying call during IST.
I dont want to write the full story with Customer Care here, but overall i am very disappointed with gifts-to-india. I could not believe that they would do this, especially on these festivals/occasions. People here in US send gifts with so much sentiments only to get dissappointed by websites like gifts-to-india.
Today i am writing this blog, so that anybody typing gifts-to-india review in google do get this blog and learn something from my expreience, and i really hope that you don't order from this website gifts-to-india. I am not against these website, but these guys just know to do business and not respect the sentiments of fellow Indians who want to send genuine gifts to loved ones back home. I would advice you to rather send money to your loved ones so that they can put it to good use. I have lost faith in all of these websites showing up when we search on google.
I will be posting comparison pictures of what i ordered and what i got to further assure you that i am not just talking out of anger. I have asked my brother-in-law to click pictures and please check back for comparison and see for your self how gifts-to-india is looting people.
